(1) lot historical oboes
FOR SALE:
(1) Robinson/Hammer Saxon baroque oboe made in 1988, unstained boxwood with 3 silver keys, a’=415 Hz $1200 USD
(1) Bosworth/Hammer baroque oboe d’amore after Denner made in 1989, stained boxwood with 2 brass keys, various bocals, a’=415 Hz $1500 USD
(1) Bosworth/Hammer baroque oboe da caccia after Eichentopf made in 1990, maple with leather covering and brass bell, 2 brass keys, (1) bocal, a’=415 Hz $2000 USD
(1) Vas Dias Classical oboe after Grassi made in 1980, granadilla with silver keys, including (4) additional silver keys (octave, F, Bb and Ab) by yours truly, a’=430-440 Hz $1000
(1) Moeck soprano shawm made sometime in the ‘70s, a’=440 Hz $400
All of the above have been well cared for and are in near mint condition—no cracks or other defects. They are outstanding playing instruments, with even scales and excellent intonation (for historical models). Since Jonathan Bosworth is no longer building oboes, his instruments have become somewhat of a collector’s item.
You can see pictures of all these instruments by going to my website (http://home.comcast.net/~cbrodersen/home2.html).
There is a custom wood case available for the oboe and d’amore—if the two are purchased together, I will include this at no charge. There is a soft cloth pouch for the Grassi. No case for the da caccia or the shawm.
Reason for selling? Difficult economic times, coupled with the fact that I don’t play these instruments very much any more, and I would like to see them being used.
The above prices are firm and include shipping within the U.S. All are available on a 7-day trial basis. If you deposit the money to my PayPal account (cbrodersen@paypal.com), I will hold on to the money pending your decision. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs if there is no sale. If you’re interested or have any questions, please contact me at cbrodersen@comcast.net.
